What's Pressure Die Casting?

Pressure die-casting is the process of injecting molten alloys of aluminum, zinc, or magnesium alloy into a die. After the part comes out of the die, gates are removed. If required the parts can be post machined, sanded, or polished. A myriad of finishes can be used, such as chromate conversion, electroplating, or painting offer superior corrosion resistance or visual appearance.

Die casting material

● Aluminum alloy:

It is suitable for high strength, low weight applications with good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties, high thermal conductivity. Due to its superior mechanical properties, aluminum is one of the most common materials used in die casting

● Zinc alloy:

Easy to cast with a low melting point and long die life. Zinc alloy die casting is mainly used for high ductility parts requiring electroplating.

● Magnesium alloy:

it is the lightest metal among the metals commonly used in pressure die casting.  With high strength,  has excellent heat dissipation, and is generally stronger than aluminum alloy. Magnesium alloy die casting is used for light components with high strength to weight ratio.
